  • REVERSING THE CURSE OF THE BAMBINO - Comen impacted the Red Sox defeat of the Yankees and the World Series, defeating the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series after an 86-year championship drought.
  • THE SEARCH FOR THE GREAT GATSBY - Comen teamed up with giants of American Literature’s Professors, the late Mathew Bruccoli of the University of South Carolina, Horst Kruse of the University of Munster in Germany, and the late Gatsby early Fitzgerald biographer Henry Dan Piper’s wife, Roberta. He is linked to Gatsby’s alter ego, Max Von Gerlach, through perpetuity.
  • STOPPING THE WAR IN CROWN HEIGHTS BETWEEN THE HASIDIC AND CARIBBEAN COMMUNITIES - In the '90s, Comen teamed up with Jerusalem-born Chabad Rabbi Doron Aizenman, Our Lady of Charity’s Franciscan Father Robert Seay, and Medium Elizabeth Baron to suggest a march down Eastern Parkway with both Communities at war to end the war in Crown Heights, New York City. 
  • MISSING BRIDGE INSPECTOR INVESTIGATION ON THE 26-MILE INNER BELT FREEWAY Mark Clark Expressway in Charleston, South Carolina. Comen's investigation led to numerous court cases exposing big highway construction corruption. 
  • MICKEY SPILLANE AND COMEN - Spillane, a world-famous author, teamed up with Comen to investigate the death of a young woman in the Myrtle Beach, SC area.
  • COMEN TEAMED UP WITH THE LATE POPE JOHN PAUL 2, ARCHBISHOP (NOW CARDINAL) MICHAEL FITZGERALD, MUSLIM IMAM THE LATE IMAM W.D. MUHAMMED (SON OF THE LATE IMAM EIijah MUHAMMED) in an attempt to bring interfaith and racial harmony to humanity. IMAM W.D. MUHAMMED AND COMEN published an interfaith and racial harmony newspaper.
  • EDUCATION - Comen and wife Michelle taught at a middle school, developing a program to show young students the practical application of reading, writing, and math after a middle schooler shot and killed another student after school in Charleston, SC.
  • CHARLESTON CONGRESS OF RELIGIONS - After a Muslim Imam spoke at Temple Emanuel in Charleston, Police Chief Reuben Greenberg, the Imam, and the Rabbi formed the Charleston Congress of Religions. Charleston Bishop Thompson, Episcopal Bishop Salmon, Rabbis, Imams, Unitarians, Buddhists, and Hindus joined the effort. After 9/11, at the request of some of the Muslims, Comen met with the University of South Carolina Religious Studies Chair, Lutheran Bishop Hermn Yoos, and Governor, later UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and her parents morphed the Charleston Congress of Religions into Interfaith Partners of South Carolina. Governor Haley would declare February Interfaith Harmony Month. 
  • Comen became Assistant Headmaster and Athletic Director of a small Low Country high school, where he coached baseball, soccer, basketball, and volleyball. One of his basketball point guards, Finell White was written up in the New York Times as the all-time leading scorer (from 1980s to present) amongst all high school scorers.
  • Comen coached a barnstorming team of former college and professional basketball players, developed a four-team Charleston semi-pro league. He also hosted his own Storer Cable Show.
  • Comen served as Softball Commissioner for the City of Charleston Recreation Department, where he coached and played on the Comen Detective Agency Softball team. 
  • The Texas Seraphim American Basketball Team is offering Comen a one-day contract to play professional basketball, making him, at 75, the oldest professional basketball player in history.
